Using MIGXdb Grid Views for Child Resource Management

MIGXdb grid views gave developers a more data-oriented way to manage related content than the standard resource tree alone.

This follow-up note expanded on the GridEditor discussion by pointing at a MIGXdb-based approach for managing child records in a grid. The screenshots in the donor made the appeal obvious: instead of opening each child item separately, editors could work against a structured table.

What made this valuable

  • related records stayed visible in one place
  • the editing flow felt closer to data management than page management
  • teams could model content sets that did not fit a plain tree very well

For Evo-oriented readers, the takeaway is less about MIGXdb itself and more about the workflow principle: if the content behaves like a dataset, give editors a dataset-oriented UI.
