Evo Bootstrap Manager Beta: A More Responsive Manager UI for Evolution CMS
A short ecosystem note on Evo Bootstrap Manager, a beta attempt to make the Evolution CMS manager more responsive and modern.
Community experiments around the Evolution CMS manager were often as important as core releases, because they showed where teams wanted the backend experience to go next. Evo Bootstrap Manager was one of those experiments: a beta manager frameset refresh shared by Nicola (Banzai) and tested against Evolution CMS 1.0.15.
The goal was straightforward: make the classic manager feel more responsive, cleaner, and easier to use on smaller screens without throwing away the familiar workflow. That made it an interesting bridge between the old frameset-based manager and a more modern admin UI direction.
What the beta changed
- It replaced manager frame files with a Bootstrap-oriented variant.
- It could be layered with alternative manager themes such as DEvo Dark or DEvo Green for a more polished result.
- It was packaged as a practical file-level modification rather than a full installer-driven upgrade.
Installation idea
The original guidance was intentionally simple: back up manager/frames/1.php and manager/frames/tree.php, copy in the new manager files, and restore the originals if you want to roll back.
That makes this release worth remembering less as a final product and more as a marker of where the ecosystem was heading: better manager ergonomics, cleaner visual language, and more comfort on modern screens.
