bidCAT Pre-Release: A Faster Catalog Idea for Evolution CMS

An early look at bidCAT as a lightweight catalog concept focused on speed, simpler editing, and lower resource demands.

bidCAT was presented as a catalog-focused tool built around speed, lighter resource usage, and easier content management. That made it interesting not just as one more extra, but as an example of how the Evolution CMS ecosystem kept experimenting with more focused product-building tools.

Why It Was Interesting

  • performance was a first-class goal
  • catalog editing aimed to stay simple for managers
  • the release showed how ecosystem tools tried to solve narrow business cases well

Even as a pre-release, it is a useful snapshot of the period: the community was actively packaging opinionated solutions instead of relying only on generic core patterns.
